He hated Jews, ranted on and on about the worldwide Jewish conspiracy, was happy about 9/11 and hoped that it would lead to the Jews in the US all being rounded up, etc.

His mother was Jewish, ergo (according to tradition and matrilineal Jewish rulez) he himself was Jewish. Imagine Denzel Washington promoting the KKK.

..but one wonders how much of that was due to being pissed off at the USA for trying to get him imprisoned for playing a chess tournament in Serbia.

I also note that he seemed to have some "issues" with his mother. Whether they were real or imaginary, who can say?

But also for failing to pay tax on the $3.3M purse he won. He could've very easily had the location of the game moved to Iceland or some other "neutral corner" and avoided the problem.
